Winterization
Closing a house down right so nothing bursts while you’re away. For an empty house in a Hamptons winter, this is the work that prevents a flooded disaster.

A burst pipe in an empty house is one of the most expensive things that can happen to a home out here — and it’s almost entirely preventable. When you close up for the season, we drain the lines, blow out the pipes, protect the traps, and shut the systems down properly so a hard freeze can’t do any damage.
Exposed and low-lying homes — out on Napeague, along the Springs waterfront, on the Montauk bluffs — are especially worth doing right. We know which houses need extra care.
When to winterize
Winterization
- You’re leaving a second home for the winter
- A house will sit vacant through cold weather
- The home has exposed or vulnerable pipes
- You’ve had a freeze scare before
- You want peace of mind while you’re away
The Bono approach
We take the time to do it right
We’re a small, family-run shop, and we plumb like it — we give the job the time it needs, answer your questions instead of rushing off, and don’t cut corners when no one’s looking. We’d rather earn your trust once than chase a quick job.
